Hi. This is Sarah Braasch. Welcome or welcome back to my channel.
Today, I want to do a 3 minute or so video giving you a complete summary statement of what really happened at Yale this past spring during the now infamous Living or Napping While Black incident.
First, I had an unfortunate encounter outside of my isolated dorm room with the man who made numerous television appearances on February 24th, 2018. I ended up calling the non emergency helpline of the Yale campus police. I told them that I wasn’t sure that I needed their help, but they said that they would send someone by, just in case. Later that evening, I was terrorized in my isolated dorm room for having done so. I sent an email to the Resident Coordinators of my dorm, who insinuated that I had done something wrong. I met with the Yale Housing Managers who told me that not only had I done absolutely nothing wrong, but that I was the only person who had done nothing wrong, and that they intended to discipline the Resident Coordinators.
After having been made aware a week later, by the Yale Housing Director, that I was being accused of racism, including by a group of Yale Deans, who had already determined punishments for me, I attempted, unsuccessfully, for months, to work with the Yale Administration and the Yale Campus Police, to clear my name and to restore my good reputation. All the while, I was being terrorized in my isolated dorm room, presumably by the persons who were involved in the February 24thincident and the Resident Coordinators. The Yale Administration and the Yale Campus Police stood by and did absolutely nothing, while I was being stalked, harassed, and attacked. The only thing the Yale Administration and the Yale Campus Police told me to do was to call the Yale Campus Police for any reason, at any time, even if I was unsure that the circumstances merited such a call.
On May 8th, 2018, while I was attempting to flee my home, out of fear of violence, and after having been terrorized in my isolated dorm room all evening, I happened upon someone in the small common room, next to my isolated dorm room, who made statements to me that made it clear that she was one of the persons who had been terrorizing me that evening, and for months.
I called the non emergency helpline of the Yale Campus Police for that reason. I had to show my student ID, and I was not only interrogated, but berated by the Yale Campus Police, who refused to listen to me explain what had happened.
Subsequently, the Yale Administration and the Yale Campus Police released grossly wrongful and defamatory public statements about me.
