So, I’m sure you’ve heard, but apparently I’m LYING about being harassed in my isolated dorm room at the top of a tower and stalked across campus during the Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax at Yale University in Spring 2018.
And, there’s PROOF!
Here’s the PROOF:
Actually, not only does this email chain between myself and Yale Police Sergeant Marnie Robbins Hoffmann in March, 2018, NOT Prove that I am lying about having been harassed during the Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax at Yale, it actually CORROBORATES ALL of my Claims.
The Email Chain begins with an email that Sergeant Marnie Robbins Hoffman sent to me on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018. It was a follow up email to a phone call. Sergeant Robbins Hoffman said that she was reaching out to me to see if I was in need of any victims’ services within the Yale Campus Police Department or on Yale’s campus. This was the last email I would ever receive from Sergeant Marnie Robbins Hoffman. The Email Chain is then a couple of emails I sent in reply, ending with an email that I sent to Sergeant Robbins Hoffman on Sunday, March 25th, 2018.
It is important for me to provide a timeline of events up to that point:
The Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax began on February 24th, 2018.
On February 24th, 2018, Jean Louis Reneson follows me into the Hall of Graduate Studies dormitory tower elevator and up to the 12th floor of the tower of HGS, in gross violation of housing regulations. I realize that he is not a resident and has gained unauthorized access to the 12th floor of the tower of the Hall of Graduate Studies, and I tell him to leave. At that time, there was NO event of any kind taking place in the 12th floor “common room.” The room is dark and empty. When I enter my isolated dorm room, the only dorm room on the 12th floor of the tower (and the only room on the 12th floor of the tower, besides the little used 12th floor common room), I decide to err on the side of caution and call the non emergency helpline of the Yale Campus Police. The first thing that I say to the officer who answers is that I’m unsure if their assistance is required. The officer tells me he will send someone by, just in case, just to make sure that everything is ok. He also tells me that the officer will stop by my room to speak with me.
On February 24th, 2018, no Yale Campus Police Officer comes to speak to me. I never heard them on the 12th floor of the tower. A short time after, some type of event begins in the 12th floor common room. A short time thereafter, 2 or 3 groups of 2 or 3 persons approach my dorm room door and yell mocking comments and obscenities into my room, through my door, over at most one hour. I send an email to the Resident Coordinators. Many hours later, I get an accusatory reply email from the Resident Coordinators. The Yale Housing Managers intervene and ask me to come into the office for a meeting on Monday, February 26th, 2018.
On Monday, February 26th, 2018, I met with Yale Housing Managers Beth Bishop and Kate St. Marie. They told me that not only had I done nothing wrong on February 26th, 2018, but that I was the only person involved who had done nothing wrong. They told me not to give the incident another thought. They told me to return to my dissertation. They told me that they would deal wth the students who had harassed me on February 24th, 2018 (a Saturday evening). They told me that they were extremely upset with how the Resident Coordinators had handled the situation. They told me that the Resident Coordinators would be reprimanded. I was completely satisfied by this. I had no interest in getting anyone in trouble. I wished only to be left alone and in peace to complete my PhD Dissertation.
On Friday, March 2nd, 2018, I met with Yale Housing Director George Longyear and one of the two Resident Coordinators. Kate St. Marie had arranged the meeting. I actually thought that I was being called in, so that the Resident Coordinators could apologize to me, and I had told Kate that the meeting was unnecessary and that I simply wished to be left alone and in peace.
On Friday, March 2nd, 2018, George Longyear told me that I had been accused of racism. He told me that the man whom I had encountered on February 24th, 2018, and the HGS Resident who had invited him, had written a letter to Yale Graduate School Diversity Dean Michelle Nearon. Director Longyear told me that the accusation was “gaining traction,” on Yale’s campus, especially within the Administration. Longyear told me that a group of Yale Deans had convened in some manner to determine punishments for me. He said that I was expected to undergo implicit bias training, which was now to be implemented for all incoming Yale graduate students. He told me that this event was going to be treated as a “learning opportunity,” and that I was expected to participate in a public town hall at which I was to publicly profess my racism and help to teach other members of the Yale community how not to be racist like me. I told Director Longyear that I was in a state of shock. I told him that I was a lifelong human and civil rights licensed attorney activist who worked on the issues of police brutality and implicit bias with the Justice Collaboratory at Yale Law School and that I had never engaged in racist behavior in my life. Director Longyear seemed to want to immediately get me out of his office. He wouldn’t tell me what it was that I was being accused of having said or done that was racist. I tried to ask him if anything had been done about the presumed Yale students who harassed me on February 24th, 2018. He claimed not to know anything about it, but he said that he would inquire.
On Friday, March 9th, 2018, I filed my police report with Yale Campus Police Officer Grace Schenkle.
Between Friday, March 2nd, 2018, and Friday, March 9th, 2018, I attempted to resolve the issue with Yale Housing and Yale Graduate School Diversity Dean Michelle Nearon, but to no avail.
On Thursday, March 1st, 2018, and thereafter, the first phase of the harassment that I endured during Spring 2018 began. The first phase of the harassment was the Resident Coordinators of the Hall of Graduate Studies going out of their way to book one raucous party after another in the 12th floor common room, even though they had promised to monitor the space and to make sure that all residents and their guests were abiding by Yale Housing Regulations. The 1st phase of the harassment ended on approximately April 6th, 2018.
On Friday, March 9th, 2018, I experienced what I later determined was a stalking incident on campus. I was crossing the street when a group of students began to discuss me and the February 24th, 2018 incident in loud voices. They called me a “racist” who should be “kicked off campus” and “thrown out of school.”
VERY IMPORTANT!: Friday, March 9th, 2018 was the last day of classes before Spring Break 2018.
Spring Break 2018 began on Friday, March 9th, 2018.
Spring Break 2018 ended on Monday, March 26th, 2018.
There were almost no students on campus during Spring Break 2018.
So, on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018, when I sent an email to Yale Campus Police Sergeant Marnie Robbins Hoffman, telling her that I hadn’t experienced any further instances of harassment since February 24th, 2018, I was VERY CLEARLY talking about people yelling mocking comments and obscenities through my door. And, this was the middle of the second week of Spring Break 2018. And, I VERY CLEARLY wasn’t thinking of the Resident Coordinators booking raucous and unsupervised parties in the 12th floor common room, in violation of Yale Housing Regulations, as the kind of harassment that Sergeant Robbins Hoffman was talking about.
Immediately after telling Sergeant Robbins Hoffman that I hadn’t experienced any further instances of harassment since February 24th, 2018, I tell her about the first of the stalking events that I would experience during Spring 2018, which was terrifying to me, but I don’t refer to it as a stalking event at that time, because I didn’t want to think that it was one. Later, I came to realize that it was an actual stalking event.
So, VERY CLEARLY, anyone who suggests that this email to Sergeant Marnie Robbins Hoffman, on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018, in the middle of the second week of Spring Break 2018, when there were virtually no students on campus, is some kind of smoking gun that PROVES that I’m lying about having been harassed during the Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax at Yale is the LIAR.
I have ALWAYS said that there were 3 Phases of Harassment:
Between February 24th, 2018 and approximately April 6th, 2018, the harassment mainly consisted of the Resident Coordinators tormenting me with the 12th floor common room, until I really put my foot down with Provosts Stephanie Spangler and Cynthia Smith. I sent them pictures of a trashed 12th floor common room. Even though the Resident Coordinators harassing me in this manner is not documented in the email to Sergeant Robbins Hoffman, it is documented in other emails.
Between approximately April 6th, 2018 and April 24th, 2018, the harassment primarily consisted of someone coming by my isolated dorm room, approximately once per evening, late in the evening, and grabbing my door handle and shaking it really hard, as if trying to break into my room and some pounding on the door. The harassment also included some screaming and yelling and some slamming of the 12th floor common room and the elevator doors.
Between approximately April 24th, 2018 and May 8th, 2018, the harassment primarily consisted of people making use of the 12th floor common room to harass me by yelling and screaming through the adjoining wall into my dorm room. Also, as before, there was some slamming of doors.
Every time I would really put my foot down with Provosts Spangler and Smith, my tormentors would change tactics. I do not think this is a coincidence.
Also, on the morning of May 8th, 2018, AFTER The Yale Campus Police Officers had left, Lolade Siyonbola continued to harass me by slamming the 12th floor common room and elevators doors over and over again. I made the Yale Campus Police aware via email, and I was told that a supplement would be added to the May 8th, 2018 police report, documenting this harassment.
Does anyone really think that I would pass out documents like candy that undermine my claims about the Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax at Yale?
The email chain between Yale Campus Police Sergeant Marnie Robbins Hoffman and myself ONLY CORROBORATES my claims.
If anyone tries to describe this email as some kind of smoking gun that PROVES that I’m lying about being harassed during the Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax at Yale University, you know that they are the LIARS!
I will continue to release documents from the Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax at Yale University.
I have NOTHING to hide. I will release EVERYTHING. I am telling the 100% simple, honest to God TRUTH.
In the end, truth will out.
