Yale would rather wage war against and destroy one of its own Grad Students than tell the Honest to God Truth

So much for that Lux et Veritas motto at Yale.

Yale would rather wage war against and destroy the life and lifelong human and civil rights career of an innocent civil rights licensed attorney activist and non traditional student with mental health disabilities than admit the simple, honest to God truth.

Yale has hired outside counsel to represent them at the CT Freedom of Information Act Commission hearing that had been scheduled for October 3rd, 2019, in Hartford, CT. I appealed to the CT FOIA Commission after the Yale Police Department rejected my request for the Yale Police Body Camera Footage from May 8th, 2018, of me only, that exonerates me and exposes Yale’s grossly illegal misconduct and malfeasance. I begged the Ombudsman at the CT FOIA Commission to please help me get Yale to simply release the footage, because I am literally trying to save my life and lifelong human and civil rights academic and legal careers after Yale told disgusting lies about me that almost drove me to suicide and put my life in grave danger.

Yale obviously refused to release the body cam footage and insisted upon a hearing. Then, after Yale was sure that I had already booked my travel to Hartford, CT for the October 3rd hearing, placing myself in extreme financial hardship, Yale’s new outside counsel made a ridiculous request for a postponement, citing the unavailability of both counsel, and their completely unnecessary witness, Chief Ronnell Higgins, who was a witness to exactly NOTHING.

As Scott Greenfield made clear in his astute blog post, this was an act of war of attrition by Yale against me. It isn’t enough that they destroyed my life and almost drove me to suicide, now they want to bankrupt me too.

I learned today that, shockingly, the CT FOIA Commission Hearing Officer granted the ridiculous request for a postponement. I am distraught, but I am trying to remain strong and calm. The truth is going to get out. Yale will have no choice but to release that YPD body cam footage that exonerates me and exposes the Yale Police and Administration as the LIARS that they are.

Why exactly is Yale University so opposed to the TRUTH getting out? What reason would Yale have for trying to move heaven and earth to stop the May 8th, 2018 YPD body cam footage from being seen by the public? Why would Yale University rather destroy one of its own students than tell the truth? I can tell you why.

The truth is that the Yale Administration and Police were complicit in the now notorious Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax at Yale. The truth is that Yale knew the ENTIRE TIME that I was ENTIRELY INNOCENT. The truth is that Yale told disgusting lies about me after May 8th, 2018, to cover up their own grossly illegal misconduct. Yale’s General Counsel admitted to my then attorney in July, 2018, that they knew that there was NO REASON WHATSOEVER to think that I have EVER engaged in racist behavior, in any way, shape, or form. Yale’s General Counsel also dropped the racial component of the harassment charges against me at that time, a fact which they later denied. This occurred BEFORE Yale President Peter Salovey’s grossly defamatory and wrongful August, 2018 statement that condemned me as guilty of racial harassment, announced sweeping university-wide policy changes, precluded the possibility of me receiving a fair hearing or any semblance of due process, and placed my life in grave danger, as well as destroyed my lifelong human and civil rights academic and legal careers. That is the honest to God truth.

The honest to God truth is that on May 8th, 2018, I explained fully to the Yale Police Officers, whom I had called on their NON EMERGENCY helpline, as repeatedly instructed by both the Yale Administration and the Yale Police, why I had placed my call. I placed my call, because I had been terrorized all evening and for months in my isolated dorm room in the Hall of Graduate Studies, while the Yale Administration and Police not only stood by and did NOTHING to stop the harassment, stalking, and attacks against me, but also the Yale Administration and Police actually ASSISTED my tormentors in tormenting me, including by illegally releasing my personal information to them, including my mental health history at Yale.

I have a YouTube video and blog post that details exactly what the YPD body cam footage contains, but, in a nutshell, it is mostly me, begging the Yale Police Officers to listen to me. It is me, trying desperately to explain to them that I called the YPD, because I had accidentally come upon someone camped out in the small, so called common room next door to my isolated dorm room, who made clear to me that she was one of the persons who had been terrorizing me all evening and for months. I begged the Yale Police Officers to please speak with Yale Grad School Dean Lynn Cooley, because she knew I was entirely innocent and that I was the victim of harassment, not the harasser. I begged the Yale Police Officers to speak with YPD Officer Grace Schenkle and to read her multiple police reports documenting the harassment and stalking that I had endured for months.

The bottom line is that Yale told disgusting lies about me after May 8th, 2018 that almost drove me to suicide. And, Yale continues to defame me, knowingly putting my life in danger and destroying my life and career. And, the bottom line is that Yale doesn’t want the public to know what they have done. This is why Yale is willing to do anything to stop that YPD body cam footage from getting released to the public.

They are even willing to wage war against one of their own students and destroy her life.

Everyone Please Read Scott Greenfield’s Astute Assessment of How Yale is Waging a War of Attrition Against Me, a Yale Grad Student

Everyone please read Attorney Scott Greenfield’s astute assessment at his blog, Simple Justice, of how Yale is waging a war of attrition against me, a Yale Grad Student, in order to not have to release the Yale Police Body Camera Footage from May 8th, 2018, the now notorious Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax, because this footage exonerates me and exposes Yale’s grossly illegal misconduct. Yale destroyed my life and lifelong human and civil rights career by telling disgusting lies about me that almost drove me to suicide. As Scott points out, why exactly is Yale so dead set against releasing the Yale Police body camera footage to the public? So much so that they are willing to go to war with one of their own graduate students?

I just want to say that Scott Greenfield has been nothing short of amazing to me. He recognized my plight, and he immediately extended his support, publicly, on his blog and twitter. He could see instantly that Yale was burning me in effigy to protect themselves.

Since I know that the Yale Admin and Police like to read my blog

Since I know that the Yale Administration and Police like to read my blog, I just want to let them know that I will move back to New Haven, CT and spend the next however many years of my life suing them myself, if I have to, because that’s how angry I am. Cheers.

CT Freedom of Information Act Commission Hearing Update 09 17 19 YouTube Channel Video Script

Below please find my YouTube Channel Video Script for my CT Freedom of Information Act Commission Hearing Update 09 17 19 YouTube Channel Video:

Hi, this is Sarah Braasch. Welcome or welcome back to my channel. So, today I want to give you an update on the CT Freedom of Information Act Hearing scheduled for October 3rd, in Hartford, CT, for me to get the Yale Police body camera footage from May 8th, 2018, that exonerates me and exposes Yale’s grossly illegal misconduct.

Before, I was hopeful that I would not have to attend the hearing, and hopeful that the hearing would not take place at all.

I had spoken with the Ombudsman at the CT FOIA Commission assigned to my docket, and she had expressed her belief that she would be able to get Yale to release the YPD body camera footage to the public, which would have precluded the need for me to attend a hearing in Hartford on October 3rd.

The Ombudsman told me that Yale was claiming the exemption of not having to release uncorroborated allegations.  The Ombudsman told me that they had NEVER allowed an entity to withhold a video based upon this exemption.  As she astutely pointed out, a video is not an allegation.

Unfortunately, when I spoke with the Ombudsman today, she said that she had been unsuccessful in getting Yale to release the Yale Police body camera footage to the public, or to give it to me to do so.  Yale is insisting that a hearing take place.  They are arguing that the footage includes uncorroborated allegations, and so they do not have to release it.

I explained to the Ombudsman that this means that I have no choice but to attend the hearing, even though it is a grave financial hardship for me, and will endanger my mental health and wellbeing.  I told her that I am trying to save my life, and I need the public to see the footage to save my life and human and civil rights career, which were destroyed by the disgusting lies that the Yale Administration and Police told about me.

I told the Ombudsman that Yale University Provost and University wide Title IX Coordinator Stephanie Spangler had assured me back in March, 2018, not to worry.  She told me that everything would be fine.  She promised me that Yale would always do the right thing, regardless of legal liability or PR.  I was devastated to learn that she had been lying to me the entire time and merely pantomiming trying to help me to placate me.

It is absolutely ridiculous for Yale to claim the right to withhold the footage, because the footage contains uncorroborated allegations.  First and foremost, the allegations are not uncorroborated.  I had been begging Yale for months to put a stop to the harassment and stalking that I was enduring in my isolated dorm room and across campus, to no avail.  In the video, I am begging the Yale Police Officers to speak with Dean Lynn Cooley, because she knew that I was the one being harassed and stalked for months.  I begged the Yale Police Officers to speak with Yale Police Officer Grace Schenkle and to read her multiple police reports, documenting the harassment and stalking I had experienced.  And, of course, if a police department can withhold the body camera footage pertaining to police officers responding to a call, because the footage contains uncorroborated allegations, then police departments could ALWAYS withhold the footage of police officers responding to ANY call. This makes absolutely no sense.

I am hopeful that I will be successful when I attend the CT FOIA Commission hearing on October 3rdin Hartford, CT.

I have invited members of the press to attend, to cover the hearing, and to interview me.  I am also intending on holding press conferences and meeting with press, in Hartford, in New Haven, and in NYC.  I am also planning on asking Dean Lynn Cooley for permission to come to Yale’s campus in New Haven, CT, to meet with my advisors. If she refuses me, this will be another Federal Office for Civil Rights complaint.

If Yale is going to force me to come to Hartford to get the YPD body camera footage from May 8th, 2018, then I am going to make a spectacle of the affair and drum up as much press as possible.

I am going to be using some of the funds that I have already raised.  I will be as frugal as possible.  This is such an important part of my case.  The footage exonerates me and exposes Yale’s grossly illegal misconduct.

I realized something today. I realized that Yale refusing to release the footage on these grounds proves that Yale is lying.  If Yale is admitting that the footage includes me begging the officers, trying desperately to tell them that I was not harassing anyone; I was the victim of harassment, including by Lolade Siyonbola.  Then, they are admitting that they knew exactly why I had called the non emergency helpline of the Yale Campus Police, as I had been repeatedly instructed to do by both the Yale Administration and the Yale Police, and that this reason had nothing to do with having found a black person asleep in the small, little used, so called common room, next to my isolated dorm room on Yale’s campus, where I had been terrorized for months while the Yale Admin and Police did nothing.  The long and short of the matter is that Yale is admitting that they told disgusting lies about me that endangered my life and destroyed my civil rights career, and they did this to cover up their own grossly illegal misconduct.

I am also making this video to please ask for donations to my legal fund.  To everyone who has already donated, please know that you are literally saving my life and career.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I remain hopeful that I’ll be able to secure my legal representation soon, and that I’ll be able to pursue all appropriate legal action against Yale and the entire moral outrage industry.

I include links to my PayPal account and my GoFundMe page in the comments below.

Thank you so much for all of your support and kind words.  It means everything to me.

CT Freedom of Information Act Commission Hearing on Oct 3rd in Hartford and Request for Donations to my Legal Fund YouTube Channel Video Script

Below please find my YouTube Channel video script for my CT Freedom of Information Act Commission Hearing on Oct 3rd in Hartford and Request for Donations to my Legal Fund YouTube Channel Video:

Hi, This is Sarah Braasch. Welcome or welcome back to my channel. I know it’s been a long time since I posted a new video.  So much has been happening.  Most of you probably follow me on twitter, so you know.  I’ll do a complete update video on where I’m at as far as saving my life and human and civil rights career goes, but today I want to address a specific and very important event that is fast approaching.

A couple of days ago I received a notice from the CT Freedom of Information Act Commission, with respect to my appeal.  I had requested the May 8th, 2018 Yale Police Department body camera footage of me only from the Yale Police Department, with the intent of releasing this footage to the public, because it exonerates me and exposes Yale’s grossly illegal misconduct towards me, including their complicity in the now notorious Living or Napping While Black Hate Crime Hoax.

They Yale Police Department refused my request for obvious reasons.  They of course would not like to have it revealed that they grossly violated my Federal Civil Rights and perpetrated a Hate Crime Hoax against one of their own students, as well as participated in an illegal online campaign to publicly shame this student for her mental health disabilities.

So, the notice I received from the CT FOIA Commission indicated that a hearing has been set on October 3rd, 2019, in Hartford, CT.  I have identified my legal representation, but, unfortunately, I have not been able to secure sufficient funds to cement an attorney client relationship with them.  For this reason, it looks like I will have to fly to Hartford, CT to attend the hearing myself and represent myself in this matter, in order to obtain the Yale Police body camera footage, for the purpose of releasing it to the public, to exonerate myself and to expose Yale’s gross wrongdoing.

If Yale forces me to take this step, and to leave my residence, where I am still in hiding, then I assure them that I will make a spectacle of the trip.  I will hold press conferences, in Hartford and New Haven, and in New York City, and I will meet with the press.  I will also be requesting permission from Yale Grad School Dean Lynn Cooley to go onto Yale’s campus.  I have been illegally banned from campus.  If she refuses my request, this will be another Federal Office for Civil Rights complaint.

It would of course be better for me not to attend, for my mental health and wellbeing also, and it of course would be preferable to be represented by licensed legal counsel. But, I will go myself, if I must. I am making this video to ask for donations, so that I may secure my legal representation before the CT FOIA Commission hearing on October 3rd.  I will make use of the funds I have already been able to raise, because this is such an important part of my case.  Of course, I have already gone thru the contents of the footage in great detail on my YouTube Channel and blog, but, of course, I need the actual footage to be released to the public to corroborate my claims.

If you are able to help me in any way, it would mean the absolute world to me.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support and kind words.  You are literally saving my life and human and civil rights career.  Thank you.
